About Hanok Days
Hanok Days is an English-language guide to travelling in Korea, written from Korea and checked against Korean-language sources. Most English guides are written once and left to age. We do the part they skip: read the Korean notice, open the official site, and confirm the detail before we publish it.
How we check
- We read the Korean-language notices — district announcements, park-office hours, reservation rules.
- We check the official Korean sites and apps, not just the English summaries.
- We confirm when a date or fee is unclear, rather than repeat what other guides say.
- We cross-check Korean reviews and community posts — and tell you how many and how recent.
What that means for you
The opening hours, fees, reservation windows and rules on this site are meant to be current as of when each guide was checked — every post says when. When something is genuinely uncertain, we say so instead of guessing. If you spot something out of date, tell us and we will check it.
Who writes this
Hanok Days is written and checked by jamesju, from Korea. Every guide carries the date it was last checked, and the Korean source behind the details is named in the post.
