Incheon Airport to Seoul: Every Option, Including the Night Bus
Quick Answer
The AREX express reaches Seoul Station in 43 minutes for ₩13,000; the all-stop takes 59 minutes for ₩4,750. Limousine buses to Seoul cost ₩17,000–18,000 and finish between about 22:00 and 23:00. If you land after 22:30 you are not stranded: the last all-stop train to Seoul Station leaves Terminal 1 at 23:38, and four night bus routes run from around 23:40 until dawn.
The Full Answer
Getting from Incheon into Seoul is well covered in English. Almost every guide explains the AREX train and the limousine buses.
Two things go stale fast, though, and both matter at the moment you walk out of arrivals: the fares, and the bus route numbers. Airport fares have moved more than once, and the 6000-series numbers that English guides list against neighbourhood names frequently do not match the neighbourhoods those routes actually serve.
I checked the following on 10 August 2026: the Incheon International Airport Corporation’s own bus, taxi and night bus pages; both limousine operators’ route and fare pages; and AREX’s fare, timetable and station pages. Every figure below comes from one of those, not from a secondary guide.
AREX Train
Two trains share the same track and both end at Seoul Station.
| Express (직통) | All-stop (일반) | |
|---|---|---|
| Adult fare, Terminal 1 → Seoul Station | ₩13,000 | ₩4,750 |
| Adult fare, Terminal 2 → Seoul Station | ₩13,000 | ₩5,350 |
| Time from Terminal 1 | 43 min | 59 min |
| Seating | Reserved | Unreserved |
| Intermediate stops | None | 11 |
| First / last from Terminal 1 | 05:24 / 22:48 | 05:14 / 23:38 |
First and last times above are weekday figures; weekend and holiday timetables differ by a few minutes.
The all-stop train is part of the ordinary subway network, so you tap through with a T-money card and can transfer onward without leaving the paid area. A single-journey ticket instead costs ₩100 more plus a ₩500 deposit refunded at your destination.
The express is a flat ₩13,000 whichever terminal you start from — the listed undiscounted price is ₩18,500 — and it is the only AREX service where you buy a separate ticket at a counter rather than tapping in. If you would rather not queue at that counter, an AREX express voucher can be bought in English before you land.
Local tip — The 15-minute re-entry exemption introduced in June 2026 covers Korail-operated sections. AREX is a separate private operator and is not one of them. On the airport line, stepping out through the gates and coming back still costs you a fresh fare — see the tap-out and re-entry rules for which sections do qualify.
Limousine Buses
Buses drop you closer to your accommodation than the train does, which matters with luggage. Two companies run them into Seoul, and the fare depends on which one you board.
| Route | Operator | Where it actually goes | Adult fare |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6001 | Airport Limousine | Dongdaemun · Myeongdong · Seoul Station · Sinyongsan | ₩17,000 |
| 6002 | Airport Limousine | Cheongnyangni · Dongdaemun · Jongno · Hapjeong | ₩17,000 |
| 6015 | Airport Limousine | Myeongdong · Chungjeongno · Gongdeok · Mapo | ₩17,000 |
| 6701 | Korea Airport Limousine | City Hall · Gwanghwamun · Gongdeok · Mapo | ₩18,000 |
| 6703 | Korea Airport Limousine | Gangnam · COEX | ₩18,000 |
| 6705A | Korea Airport Limousine | Jamsil · East Seoul Terminal | ₩18,000 |
- Fare: ₩17,000 on the 6000-series, ₩18,000 on the 6700-series. Children pay ₩12,000 on both
- Journey: 60–110 minutes, heavily traffic-dependent
- First departure from the airport: roughly 05:15–05:40 depending on route and terminal
- Last departure: roughly 22:00–23:00. The 6015 runs latest of the ones above, at 22:59 from Terminal 2; the 6701 finishes at 22:25 from Terminal 1 and 22:05 from Terminal 2
Airport Limousine alone runs nineteen Seoul routes numbered 6001 to 6019, so this is a sample, not the full list.
Local tip — Check the route number against the operator’s own destination list, not against a blog. English guides routinely pair 6001 with Gangnam, 6004 with Jamsil and 6017 with Sinchon. As of August 2026 none of those is right: 6001 runs Dongdaemun–Myeongdong–Seoul Station, 6004 goes to Gasan Digital Complex in the south-west, and 6017 serves Nakseongdae and Sindaebang. Gangnam is 6703 and Jamsil is 6705A — different company, different fare, different stand.
Landing Late: The Part Most Guides Skip
If your flight arrives after about 22:00, the daytime limousines are winding down. The train is not.
The last all-stop train to Seoul Station leaves Terminal 1 at 23:38 and Terminal 2 at 23:32 on a weekday. There is a later departure at 23:56 from Terminal 1, but it terminates at Digital Media City, several stops short of the centre.
After that, four night buses take over.
| Route | Destination | Adult fare | First / last from Terminal 1 |
|---|---|---|---|
| N6000 | Express Bus Terminal (Gangnam) | ₩17,000 | 00:10 / 04:20 |
| N6002 | Hongdae · Dongdaemun · Cheongnyangni | ₩17,000 | 00:00 / 04:40 |
| N6701 | Mapo · Seoul Station · Euljiro · DDP | ₩18,000 | 23:50 / 04:40 |
| N6703 | Seorae · COEX · Jamsil · Gwangnaru | ₩18,000 | 23:40 / 04:50 |
Terminal 2 departures start 20 to 30 minutes earlier — N6703 at 23:20, N6701 at 23:30, N6002 at 23:40, N6000 at 23:50 — because those buses call at Terminal 1 on the way.
Local tip — There is no longer a dedicated Seoul Station night bus. N6001 has been dropped from the airport’s night bus page entirely — it appears in neither the fare table nor the timetable as of August 2026. Seoul Station is still served, but as an intermediate stop on N6701 roughly 60 minutes out, not as a terminus. Ticket machines run 24 hours; the staffed Terminal 1 windows do not.
Your realistic options in that window:
- All-stop AREX — until 23:38 from Terminal 1, ₩4,750
- Night bus — ₩17,000–18,000, ticket bought before boarding at a machine or window
- Taxi — a regular taxi starts at ₩4,800, but the surcharge to Seoul is 20% from 22:00, 40% from 23:00 to 02:00, and 20% again until 04:00. Deluxe and nine-seat taxis start at ₩7,000 with a flat 20% surcharge from 22:00 to 04:00
- Wait for the first departure — the first all-stop train is 05:14 from Terminal 1
Sending Your Luggage Ahead
Seoul Metro runs a same-day luggage service called T-Luggage (또타러기지) that moves a suitcase between the airport and the subway network in either direction. It is a real, official service, and it is easy to miss.
Local tip — The airport desks are not in arrivals. They are Hanjin courier counters on the third floor, departures level — opposite check-in counter B at Terminal 1 and opposite check-in counter H at Terminal 2. If you walk out of baggage reclaim looking for them among the transport desks, you will not find them.
The city end is a staffed desk at Seoul Station, Hongik University, Myeongdong or Gimpo Airport station, or a large locker at another station. Two limits matter: at least one end of the trip must be a staffed desk, and only Seoul Metro lines 1 to 9 are covered. You can book online in advance or hand the bag over on the spot.
Terminal 1 also has private courier desks near check-in — one open 07:00 to 21:00 and a 24-hour counter — for destinations the subway service does not reach. Confirm rates and cut-off times at the counter; a late drop-off may become a next-day delivery. The same-day services that move a bag between hotels and between cities run on their own cut-offs, which are earlier than most people expect.
If a bag goes the other way and you leave something behind in the terminal, email the airport directly rather than relying on an online search: Incheon publishes a list of non-accepted items that it logs internally but does not register on the national police database, so a portal search can return nothing even while the item is sitting on a shelf.
Terminal 1 vs Terminal 2
Your terminal is set by the operating airline, not the airline on your ticket — our Incheon Airport terminal guide covers codeshares and the full airline list.
- Terminal 2: Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, Jin Air, Air Seoul, Air Busan, Delta Air Lines and some other airlines (Asiana moved here on 14 January 2026)
- Terminal 1: Jeju Air, T’way (Trinity Airways), Eastar Jet, Air Premia, Parata Air and most other foreign airlines
That split is Incheon Airport’s own list as of October 2026, and the airport notes that codeshare flights can leave from a different terminal than the airline on your ticket suggests, so check the terminal on your booking.
Each has its own AREX station and its own bus stands, with different schedules. A limousine route serving Terminal 1 does not necessarily stop at Terminal 2 at the same time — and on the night routes, Terminal 2 is where the bus starts.
Local tip — English guides describe the free inter-terminal shuttle and stop there. The AREX train also connects the terminals in six minutes for ₩1,050, which is both faster and available later: the shuttle stops at 23:35, while the train keeps running. Pay the ₩1,050 if you are tight for time or arriving late.
The shuttle itself is free and leaves every 7 to 20 minutes from 04:30 to 23:35. If you are connecting between terminals, budget an hour door to door regardless of which you take — the walk at both ends is long.
Which to Choose
| Your situation | Best option |
|---|---|
| Heading to Seoul Station area | AREX express |
| On a budget, no rush | AREX all-stop |
| Heavy luggage, hotel far from a station | Limousine bus |
| Landing 22:00–23:30 | All-stop AREX, if you make the last one |
| Landing after 23:30 | Night bus (N6000 / N6002 / N6701 / N6703) |
| Group of 3–4 with luggage | Compare a taxi against three or four bus fares — but check which surcharge band applies first |

What You Need to Know
-
Route numbers do not map to the neighbourhoods English guides attach to them. Check the operator’s destination list before you buy a ticket. Getting this wrong costs ₩17,000 and an hour.
-
Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are far apart. Separate stations, separate bus stands, separate timetables. Check your terminal on your booking, not on arrival.
-
Bus journey times are traffic-dependent. The 60–110 minute range is real. Allow the upper end during weekday rush hours.
-
The last useful train is later than most people assume. 23:38 from Terminal 1 still reaches Seoul Station; the 23:56 does not.
-
AREX all-stop uses the ordinary subway fare system, so transfers and tap-out rules apply as they do elsewhere — except the June 2026 re-entry exemption, which does not cover this line.
-
Fares change. Everything here was confirmed against operator and airport sources on 10 August 2026. Confirm at the counter rather than relying on any guide, including this one.
Practical Tips
-
Buy a T-money card at the airport convenience store before you board. It works on the AREX all-stop, city buses and later journeys, though not on the express or the limousines from the airport.
-
Take the express train only if you are going to Seoul Station. It saves 16 minutes over the all-stop and costs ₩8,250 more. For anywhere else, the saving disappears during the onward transfer.
-
Note your route number, not just the district. Bus stands are numbered and the district name alone is not enough.
-
If you land after 22:00, decide before baggage claim. The last limousine on your route may leave while you are still waiting for a suitcase, and the last through train to Seoul Station goes at 23:38.
-
Buy night bus tickets at a machine, not a window. The ticket machines run 24 hours; the staffed windows at Terminal 1 do not.
-
Use Naver Map or KakaoMap for live departure times. Google Maps does not have reliable Korean transit data.
-
Sort out mobile data at the airport before you need live departure times.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to get from Incheon Airport to Seoul?
₩4,750 on the AREX all-stop train to Seoul Station, ₩13,000 on the express, ₩17,000–18,000 on a limousine bus depending on operator, and ₩17,000–18,000 on the night buses. A taxi costs considerably more, especially between 23:00 and 02:00 when a 40% surcharge applies.
How long does it take?
43 minutes on the express train to Seoul Station, 59 minutes on the all-stop, and 60–110 minutes by bus depending on traffic and destination. From Terminal 2 add roughly seven minutes to both train times.
What if I arrive at 1am?
Four night bus routes cover the corridor: N6000 to the Express Bus Terminal, N6002 to Cheongnyangni via Hongdae, N6701 to DDP via Seoul Station, and N6703 to Gwangnaru via COEX and Jamsil. Fares are ₩17,000–18,000. A taxi is the alternative, with a 40% night surcharge until 02:00.
Is the express train worth the extra ₩8,250?
Only if Seoul Station is your destination or your onward connection is there. It saves 16 minutes. For most other areas the all-stop train or a bus works out similarly once transfers are counted.
Can I use a T-money card on the airport train?
Yes on the all-stop service, which is part of the ordinary subway network. The express service uses separate tickets bought at a counter.
Which terminal has better connections?
Both are served by AREX and limousine buses, but schedules differ. Terminal 2 is the newer of the two and slightly further from the city — the all-stop train takes 66 minutes to Seoul Station from Terminal 2 against 59 from Terminal 1. The two are linked by a free shuttle and by the train, which takes six minutes and costs ₩1,050.
Can I send my luggage to my hotel?
Seoul Metro’s T-Luggage service moves bags same-day between the airport and the subway network. The airport desks are on the third floor by the check-in counters, not in arrivals, and at least one end of the journey has to be a staffed desk. Private courier counters at Terminal 1 handle other destinations.
Do I need cash for the bus?
For the 6000-series routes at Terminal 1 you can pay the driver with cash or a transit card. Everywhere else — Terminal 2, the 6700-series and all night buses — buy a ticket at a window or machine first. Beyond the airport, card acceptance is broad across Korea.
